When we were told we had to do a blog, I’m not gonna lie, I hated the idea! HATED it! And always, always put it off. Until the very last minute where I’d have to backtrack everything. And every time I was to write a post, I felt like I was talking to myself and had my very own digital diary. I’m not one to keep diaries so that’s what it felt like to me and I hated it. It was just so weird. Also, I don’t really talk about my feelings and that’s what this feels like I have to do, by being all critical and analytical and talk about shit. Saying my opinion when, who really cares? I mean does anybody read this shit, really? But, I get it now. And I now know they do. (I think). And it’s just good to have an opinion! Also, I’m so lazy! This just feels like another extra thing we have to do and to get marked on it does’nt seem fair. But then, I must be fucking stupid because this should be easy marks! DUH! So this past year, I’ve really tried to keep on top of it and blog when I should so I won’t be backtracking what I did when etc and I’m quite proud of myself as I think I have kept it up to date! :-) Also I do like to know when things were/happened (since I can never remember anything anyway) so it’s good in that sense where everything is dated and I can just look back to this to know when I did something and I’m a bit OCD like that so all my posts are pretty much dated. And lastly, I have to admit, I have grown to like this blogging idea!! I’ve now got everything Iv’e done at uni blogged. Everything I’ve liked, has it’s own reference of me liking it and I can just go back to it if needed for inspiration. And it really has helped saying my opinion and trying to be critical and analytical as it makes you see more and question more, terefore being more alert and aware of everything that is going on around us, everything that inspires us and influences us in everything we do.

Apple TV is finally on its way — with video chat and voice recognition!
The new product will be called the iTV and will feature a sleek aluminum shell similar to that of many current Apple laptops and products, and will have a similar high-definition display, [Apple contractor Foxconn CEO Terry] Gou said.
It will also have FaceTime video chat and be able to accept instructions using Apple’s Siri voice recognition program, according to Gou.

cant reblog the post! - but good advice so had to copy n paste!!
good:
Be patient. This seems fairly glib at first blush, but really, it helps a lot focusing on incremental steps towards what you want to do in design. The economy makes this a tougher challenge, that’s for sure, but countless designers all started out working long, grueling hours for little pay. That’s a time honored tradition in design, one that extends further back in time, previous to the recession.
And, really, that can be a good thing. Working those long hours pays off if you are patient, and the rewards can be pretty astounding. Just be confident, willing to grind, and live with patience, and you should be a-okay.

Not sure if you need to give preference to one or the other. Follow where your interests lie to figure out what feels right for what you want to do in design. If accumulating a lot of various skill sets makes you get up in the morning, do it. If honing in on a specific aesthetic sense gets you going, than you need to figure out how that works for you, and do it. Do what makes you feel this:

There are upsides and downsides to both, but stressing one over the other in an attempt to make yourself marketable will only make you scrutinize those feelings to an unhealthy level. It helps to just think about what makes you excited to work, and start keeping your eyes and ears to the ground for opportunities that allow you to further yourself.
And, all that said, learn and do, no matter what. Make mistakes, learn from them, iterate on ideas, and figure it out as you go.
